Marine Mammal Center Comes to the RescueA.K.A. "A Boy Named Beverly"
Enter the brave volunteers of the Marine Mammal Center, who rushed onsite and explained that this baby sea lion had been released on July 14th at the Farallon Islands Marine Sanctuary, only to swim 20 miles to make it to the Rod and Gun Club! They skillfully netted "Beverly", who seemed content yet curious back in her transport cage. And guess what: Beverly is a... boy! They explained that her.. no.. his gender had been determined only *after* the name someone had chosen, well - just seemed to fit. Our thanks to the Marine Mammal Center, and good luck to Beverly!
